  1. 1.  Edna Ross was born in 1868 in New Boston Township, New Boston, Mercer County, Illinois; Per 1870 & 1880 Census & Marriage Record (daughter of Joseph M. Ross and Hannah E. Arnold); and died.

    Notes:

Edna's age, parents, and place of birth are taken from the marriagerecord to George Scoville.
In the 1870 Federal Census we find that Edna is two years old andliving with her parents. It would seem that from this time untilafter 1900, the family lived primarily in New Boston Township, NewBoston, Mercer County, Illinois. It is a high probability that notonly was Edna born in New Boston, but also her siblings. Edna is theoldest child listed in the 1870 census.

Edna married George G. Scoville on 30 Mar 1896 in Aledo, Mercer County, Illinois Per Marriage Record. George (son of John H. Scoville and Mary Jane Gibson) was born in 1873 in Aledo, Mercer County, Illinois Per Marriage Record; and died. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

    Notes:

22 April 2006, Obtained a marriage license index at the Essley-NobleMuseum in Aledo, IL., for a Jos. M. Ross-Martha Tipton, Married Jan.17, 1867 by John H. Payton, filed on Feb. 20, 1867 in Mercer County,Illinois, #2235 to be able to obtain a copy of the record at the courthouse; The information was obtained from the original records by theMercer County Historical Society, and is in the Indexed 1832-1890Marriage Book of Mercer County, page 110 at the museum. It wouldseem that this marriage to Martha Tipton is his first marriage, because in the 1870 census his wife is Hannah E. Arnold and theirdaughter is Edna and she is two years old at the time. Edna must befrom his first marriage to Martha and then subsequent children must befrom Hannah E. Arnold, William, Calvin, Alice, and Jamie. Themarriage license for Jos. & Hannah has not been located as yet.
