Published by William Blackwood and Sons, Edinburgh and London, 1894.Cupples is another old favorite who weaves a lot of practicle knowledge through ruminative dissertations on everything from stone-age man to anecdotes of the American West. It is Cupples who tells us that George Washington was famous for the quality of his deerhounds, and was applied to for stock, even from Europe. Cupples was a respected breeder among the circle of those forming the original Deerhound Club. It is regrettable that there are so few illustrations in his book. Cupples and Bell are the last generation to write of the "true old highland" type hound. Corresponde with Charles Darwin.. Also, papers in Princeton Rare Book collection
