BLANKENBEKER, was born in BooneCounty, Ky., January 1, 1851, and is a son of Jeremiah and Frances(Clore) Blankenbeker. Jeremiah Blankenbeker was born in Virginia, andwas a son of Ephraim Blankenbeker, a native of Virginia, and among thefirst settlers of Boone County. Frances Clore was a daughter ofEphraim Clore, a native of Virginia and an early settler of BooneCounty. Jeremiah Blankenbeker came to Kentucky with his parents whensmall and settled in Boone County, where he followed farming, and diedabout 1853. His wife survived him until August 5, 1886. He wasmarried about 1845, and had two children: Richard T. and Ephraim.Richard T. lived in Boone County, but died April 1, 1887. Ephraim H.Blankenbeker was brought up on the farm, and received a common-school(Page 752) education. He has followed farming all his life, andsettled where he now resides in 1880. He has about 700 acres ofvaluable land, all well improved. He is devoting some attention tothe growing of blooded sheep. September 11, 1873, he was married toMartha L. Tanner, of Boone County. To this union, one child has beenborn--Clinton. Politically, Mr. Blankenbeker is a Democrat."
