He was paid a travel allowance to New York of $3.64 for the 91 mi. distance. Jon saw photographs of the Missouri in the Panama canal - the first battleship through the canal.

JOHN LAPSANSKY DIES IN BRONX HOSPITAL
John Lapsansky, 403 West 22nd St., NY City, a native Scrantonian and former Olyphant resident, died yesterday morning at St. Joseph's Hospital, the Bronx, after a long illness.
Mr. Lapsansky was a member of the Masonic Order and was employed by the Lackawanna Railroad at its Hoboken, NJ offices.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Minnie C. Lapsansky; two stepsons, William K. Case, Huntington, WV, and Harold L. Case, Olyphant, and one grandson.
The funeral will be held from a Narrowsburg, NY funeral home at a time to be announced.
(Medical):at age 26. Blue/grey eyes, brown hair. Died at a tubercular hospital.
John married Minnie Charlotte Dexter on 9 Oct 1917 in Grace Church, Allentown, Lehigh Co., PA Bethlehem Diocese By Rev. R.H.Kline.
