James Boots was baptized 13 June 1645, in the Parish of Burwash, Sussex County, England.
He may have been married three times.
There are records of James Boots and wife, Maria , as well as of James Boots and wife, Martha , and lastly, of James Boots and wife, Susanna .
The lapse of time between James Boots' baptism in 1645 and the baptism of James Boots, son of James and Susanna in 1699 may perhaps be explained by the multiple marriages - Susanna being his third wife.
It is also possible that there is a missing generation between Janes (1645) and James (1699).

James Boots was baptized 1 May 1608, in the Parish of Etchingham, Sussex County, England. He married 27 October 1634, in the Parish of Burwash, Sussex County, England, Anne WENHAM. The Burials Register of Burwash Parish records that a James Boots was buried 24 October 1665, and it is fairly certain that this burial is for the James Boots in question. So far, we have a record of only three children.

Richard Boots is, at this writing (2003), our earliest known ancestor. The names of his parents have not yet been discovered. All we know of him is that he resided in the Parish of Etchingham, in Sussex County, England, in the early 1600's, and that his wife's name was Eleanor, he had at least five children, all of whom are mentioned in the Baptismal Register for the Parish of Etchingham.
The original Register of Etchingham was poorly preserved, and there is a gap in the register from 1617 to 1622, so there may well have been other children between the above referenced John and Eleanor.Richard married Eleanor ?
