    "Golden Wedding Day Approaching

    "Wednesday, June 1, will be the Golden Wedding Day of Mr. And Mrs. Thomas Senior, well known North Sewickley township residents, who tomorrow will quietly mark the occasion with a family get-together. No other celebration of the happy event is planned because of Mrs. Senior's frail health. Their marriage took place Jue 1, 1905 in Unionville and the couple immediately went to housekeeping in North Sewickley township where they have resided ever since. Mrs. Senior is the former Minnie McCreary. They are members of Concord Methodist Church and Mr. Senior still engages in farming. The Seniors have nine sons and daughters...."

    Mary Ellen McDanel was born 5 December 1853, in North Sewickley Township, Beaver County, Pennsylvania, and died 11 November 1930 in New Brighton, Beaver County, Pennsylvania. She married, in November 1877, in Beaver County, Pennsylvania, Abelard Benjamin McCREARY, son of William McCREARY and FERGESON, who was born 18 November 1852 in North Sewickley Township, Beaver County, Pennsylvania, where he died 23 December 1926. They are buried in the Cemetery of the Concord Methodist Church, North Sewickley Township, Beaver County, Pennsylvania. They had six children.

    A newspaper clipping dated November 6, 1924, contains an account of the Golden Wedding Anniversary of Mary Ellen and A. B. McCreary:

    "A golden wedding anniversary was celebrated in the home of A. B. McCreary in North Sewickley Township on the evening of November 5. Fifty years ago Miss Mary Ellen McDanel and Abelard Benjamin McCreary were united in marriage in the home of the bride's grandfather, Samuel Boots in the old Boots farm in Brush Creek. J. S. McCreary acted as best man and Miss Eunice Fombell as bridesmaid. Some of the guests present at that time were Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Swick, Mr. and Mrs. James Wilson, Mr. and Mrs. Liebendorfer, and Mr. and Mrs. Jordan Johnson, and a few immediate relatives. On this anniversary occasion were Ed Martsolf and wife (Elizabeth McCreary) and three children. Forest Price and wife (Teresa McCreary) and two children, Thomas Senior, in whose home the old folks live and wife (Minnie McCreary) and five children and Thomas Gillespie and wife (Erma McCreary) and four children. There are four daughters living and 15 grandchildren, fourteen of whom were present and two dead. Mrs. Laura Funkhouser and Grace McCreary who have been dead a number of years.

    "A sumptuous dinner was served at 6 o'clock the table being decorated with yellow flowers in keeping with the occasion. Mr. McCreary stated that the weather was just as warm and nice 50 years ago as it is now. A purse of gold was presented by the children and friends. The evening was spent in social chat and music and at a late hour the guests departed, wishing Mr. and Mrs. McCreary many more happy birthdays."
