  1. 2.  Kenneth (of House of Ardgour) Maclean (son of Donald McLean); and died.

    Notes:

Below is from Margaret Cameron, Box 621, Long Sault, Ontario KOC 1PO(margaret077@sympatico.ca)

The following has been taken from records of Kenneth MacLean who hadhardware store in Finch:

"Donald McLean, Isle of Harris, Scotland, came to Canada with GeneralWolfe at the taking of Quebec 1759. He returned to Scotland and diedthere. The date is unknown.

His son, Kenneth, landed in Canada in January 1804 with his family. Hehad served against Napoleon in Spain. The Imperial Government gave him amilitary scrip with which he took up land in Finch Township, StormontCounty, Ontario.

Kenneth MacLean(House of Ardgour) married Mary MacLean(House of Lochbuie).
    Their children,

    1) John Kenneth married Catharine MacMillan(according to notes J..G. andAK(Lyn's grandfather) ==Catheline(Catharine) married John McLean(our gtgrandfather). (Comment: She was the daughter of Angus MacMillan ofCallich b 1766-d. Nov 1 1841-tombstone-MacMillan graveyard--mc).
    2) Mary married Alex MacKinnon
    3) Nancy(Ann) married John Archie MacMillan(Comment: he was b.1825-tombstone-MacMillan graveyard---he was brother to my gt grandmother,Margaret MacMillan--They were the children of Archibald MacMillan whosettled on Lot 20, Conc. 3 Finch Township(just west of Cameron school,Lot 21-4 Finch--)c 1839. Archie was son of John MacMillan of Callich whosettled on Lot 22-1 Finch, who was thebrother to Alexander MacMillan ofCallich, Lot 16-2 Finch
    (Johnny Archie MacMillan, b. 1825, was the grandfather of A.K. MacMillan,Lyn's grandfather---mc)
    4) Donald Kenneth married Flora McKinnon(daughter of Hugh McKinnon).
    5) Mary married Hugh Archie MacMillan(Hughie Archie MacMillan was thebrother to Johnny Archie and to my gt grandmother, MargaretMacMillan----Lot 20-3 Finch)
    6) Jane married John Angus MacMillan(John Angus MacMillan was the son ofJohn MacMillan, son of Angus MacMillan(1766-1841) of Callich(my gtgtgt)Lot 20-1 Finch),
and a daughter of Donald Cameron(Clunes)(my gtgt)killed March 1809 andhis wife, Nancy Cameron b. 1779-census 1851)(Inveruis) Lot 21, -4 FinchTownship(Cameron School). Their son, Uncle Angus John MacMillan marriedAunt Kate Cameron, the sister to my grandfather, Donald Cameron Lot21-4===mc.) Rev. Donald Neil also descended from this line through hismother, Sarah MacMillan--mc
(Aunt Kate and Uncle Angus John were the grandparents of Clifford MacRae.)
    7) Kenneth was killed in the American War of 1862 at the Battle of SugarCreek. He is buried at Trottsville, Arkansas, USA
    8) Margaret married Angus O. MacMillan, Lot 18-3 Finch---at the cornerwest of Cameron School, Lot 21-4 Finch. (this property was originallyowned by Allan Glenpean). Angus O(as he was known) was ancestor toEllery MacMillan who once told me he descended from the Callichs on hisfather's side and from the Roman Johns on his mother's side....(mycousin's father in law). I think Angus O descended from one of the sonsof Angus of Callich(i.e. - Ewen), but I don't have any family recordspertaining to the descent, but he was from the Callich line.
    9) Katie married Alexander Angus MacMillan(probably the Alexander wasson of Angus of Callich but I don't have him listed on familyrecords...mc)

Angus of Callich had three sons: 1) John 2) Alexander 3) Ewen(Hugh)

Usually, the middle name was not a baptismal name but a nickname(i.e. Ofrom og the Gaelic for younger==Angus 0 = Angus the younger/or AlexanderAngus(meaning Alexander son of Angus).

In reference to the above mentioned Kenneth McLean===there is a KennethMcLean (I don't know of another Kenneth McLean settling in Finch at thattime) who mig. in 1802 on the Glenpean migration. Of course, boat listscan be very wrong.
He settled on sixth concession of Finch, I think Lot 12.
