1. Mary McFarlane [MacFarlane] was born on 30 Apr 1804 in Kilbarchan, Renfrewshire, Scotland (daughter of Alexander McFarlane [MacFarlane] and Anne McCulloch); died before Jul 1811. Notes:
Assumed to have died before birth of same named younger sister.-Ed.
2. Alexander McFarlane [MacFarlane] was born in 1782 in Kilbirnie, Ayrshire, Scotland; died after 1841 in Lanark Co., Ontario, Canada. Notes:
1 - My husband's g-g-grandfather Alexander McFarlane had a sister Janet born about 1808 in Scotland (we think in Kilbarchan, Renfrew). Their father was Alexander McFarlane married to Anne McCulloch. They emigrated to Scotland in 1815 to Ontario, Canada. Unfortunately, we haven't discovered who or when Janet married or for that matter, If she married. She seems to have disappeared from the records that we have been able to find. The family lived in Lanark County, Ontario; then some moved to Grey Co. There were several other sisters also -Mary, Ann, Catherine, Elizabeth and Maisey (or Minnie).

2 - My great,great Grand was Alexander and he married (Anne Mc Culloch) His father was Alexander too and married (Elizabeth Lennox) That Alexander's father was Patrick and married (Anne Mitchell) They all lived I believe in Scotland and I think around the Tarbet area. I have a cousin who has more information and I will try to find out more. My Grandfather Neil was 2 years old when they came from Scotland and when he married they moved to North Dakota and then to Minnesota where I was born and have lived all my life.

3 - This the registration of births: "Alexander McFarlane lawful son to Alexander McFarlane and Elizabeth Lennox in Glenmore was baptised 27th Oct, 1784." This photo copy that I received from the General Register Office shows this was the Parish of Arrochar, County of Dumbarton.
I also have a copy from the General Register Office of the marriage of Alexander McFarlane and Elizabeth Lennox 20th June 1783.
