    Oliff Niswender,
    70, a long time resident of Gillette and Campbell County, d ied Wednesday, Dec. 13, 1989, in the Campbell County Memori al Hospital after a heart attack.
    The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Noecker Funera l Home Chapel, with Pastor Seth Johnson of the Antelope Val ley Baptist Churc h officiating. Burial will be in the Mt . Pisgah Cemetery. Mr. Niswender was born Nov. 1, 1919 in C hariton, Iowa, to Harley and Alice Cozetta ( Scott ) Niswen der. at age 3, he moved with his parents to a homestead sou th of Gillette, where he grew up and attended a country gra de school. For many years Mr. Niswender worked on area ranc hes as a ranch hand. On Aug. 16, 1954 he maried Pauline Hal l in Terre Haute, Indiana. They lived in Paris Illinois fo r a short time before moving back to Gillette, where they h ad lived since.
    Mr. Niswender worked for the Campbell County Road and Bridg e Department and retired from there in 1981 a fter 25 years . he was a member of the Antelope Valley Baptist Church, th e Moose Lodge and the F.O. Eagles Aerie Lodge NO. 2711.
    Survivors include his wife, Pauline; one son, Lyle L. Niswe nder of Buffalo; for daughters, Mary Jane Brendel and Hele n Harper, bolth of Gillette, and Genia Berry and Loretta Mo rrison of Helena Montana; one brother, Dorvin Niswender o f Westville, Illinois; two sisters, Veta Bell of Gillette , and Desma Doyle of Alliance, Nebraska; and 10 grandchildr en and four great-grandchildren.
    Visitation is at the Noecker funeral Home Chapel today fro m 2 to 7 p.m., and Friday from 9 a.m. until the service . A mem orial has been established to the Campbell County h ealth Care Foundation for ca ncer care and may be sent in c are of Noecker Funeral Home, P.O. Box 734, in Gil lette.

    Harley Fietta Niswender, 74 of Gillette died Friday fro m a self-inflicted gun shot wound, according to local autho rities.
    Mr. Niswender had been in ill health for some time, and i t was belived that he was dispondent concerning his health.
    Funeral services for the long-time resident of Gillette whe re conducted from the chapel of the Noecker Funeral Home a t 2 p.m., Tuesday, december 19, 1961, with the Rev. Rober t M Phoenix officiating, and the rev. Glen Burris assisting.
    LaVern harrod sang " What a Friend We Have in Jesus" "Beyon d the Sunset" and "We Are Going Down the Valley" accompanie d by Mrs. Lewis Grams at the organ.
    Pallbearers where Leroy Christnick, Herbert Strey, Lee Newt on, Charley Tyrrell, Charles C. Olds and jack W. Hamm, al l of Gillette.
    Honorary pallbearers where. Thomas Street, Dan Bennor, Elme r Jones, Lewis C Barlow, S. O. Sherman, Hawley Drum, Joe Ma gnusson and Elmer Thomas.
    Burial was made at Mount Pisgah Cemetery, Gillette.
    Harley F. Niswender was born to Mr. an d Mrs George Niswend er in Lucas County, Iowa. on July 13, 1887 in 1905 he was u nited in marriage to Cosie Alice Scott at chariton, Iowa, a nd nine children were born to this union. He moved with hi s family to Wyoming in 1917 and homesteaded 18 miles southw est of Gillette, where he made his home for some time.
    He united in marriage to Blanch Etter in 1955 at Chariton , Iowa, and returned to Gillette.
    He was preceded in death son Alvis in 1917.
    Survivors are his wife, Blanch; six sons, Rex, Zelton, Dwig ht, Wendel and Oliff all of Gillette, and son Darvin of Wes terville, Illinois; two daughters Mrs Kenneth ( Desma ) Doy le of Alliance, Nebraska, and Mrs. Thomas ( Veta ) McClur e of paris, Illinois; 22 grand children; 2 brothers Orbin a nd Otis Niswender and 1 sister Flossie Baker all of Charito n, Lucas County, Iowa.

    Mrs. A. Niswender

    Funeral services for Mrs. Alice Cozetta Niswender, 75, wer e conducted from the Noecker Funeral Chapel in Gillette o n Wednesday, March 28, at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Robert M . Phenix, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiat ing.
    Mrs. Niswender passed away at the Campbell County Memoria l Hospital on Saturday, March 24, following a short illness.
    LaVern Harrod sang "Beyond the Sunset" and "When the Roll i s Called Up Yonder" accompanied by Mrs. Lewis Grams at th e organ.
    Pallbearers were Lee Newton, LeRoy Christinck, Jack Hamm, H erbert Strey, Harold Bell, and Carlile Rhoads. Burial was m ade at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Gillette.
    Alice Cozetta Scott was born to Charlie and Rachel Scott a t Decatur Co., Iowa, on June 17, 1886. She spent her girlho od in Iowa and was united in marriage to Harley Niswender a t Chariton, Iowa. Nine children were born to this union.
    Mrs. Niswender moved with her family to Wyoming in 1917 an d homesteaded 18 miles southeast of Gillette, where they ma de their home for a number of years before moving to Gillet te. She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary, American Legi on Auxiliary, and the V.F.W. Auxiliary .
    Survivors are two daughters: Mrs. Kenneth (Desma) Doyle o f Alliance, Nebraska and Mrs. Tom (Veta) McClure of Paris , Illinois; six sons: Rex, Oliff, Zelton, Wendell, and Dwig ht of Gillette, and Darvin of Paris, Illinois; two brother s Rex and Oral Scott of Newton, Iowa; one sister: Mrs. Roya l Swanson of Lucas, Iowa; 18 grandchildren and 36 great gra ndchildren.
    All of the children and most of the grandchildren were pres ent for the services.

    SEVERAL OLD CITIZENS HAVE RECENTLY BEEN CALLED TO THE UNKNO WN.
    The funeral of Noble Douglass was held from the family hom e last Saturday at 2:00 o'clock p.m., conducted by Rev. F . B. Palmer, pastor of the Baptist Church, of which the dec eased was a veteran member. Many old friends and neighbor s paid there respectst with thier presence, after which th e reamins where laid to rest.
    Noble Douglass was born near Brownstone, Indiana, May 12 , 1818, and at the time of his death was likley the oldes t person in Lucas County. He came to the state in 1853, set tling on his farm just south east of Chariton, on which h e resided until about 10 years ago, and since the death o f his companion has made his home with his daughter, Mrs. J . M. Kneeland. He had been twice married and was the fathe r of 9 children, five of whom survive him, Ed Douglass of H arper, Washington, who was not present at the funeral, Mrs . Mary Davidson, Mrs. Laura Niswender, Mrs. J. M. Kneeland , and Miss Tessie Douglass. There are also ninten grandchil dren and thirteen great grand children. Mr. Douglass whil e never a rugged man had great tenacity of life and was ver y active, seldom complaining of physical ills. The fatal di sease was caused by a complication following Lagrippe. Nobl e Douglass was a man of strong Character, just in all his d ealings with his fellow men and was revered throughout a l ong life of usefullness, and in his passing those who kne w him best silently pay tribute and retain him in thier mem ories. His span of life was long; his years where tilled wi th good deeds; his reward is certain.
