  1. 2.  Prof. Terence Wilmot Hutchison was born on 13 Aug 1912 in Bournemouth, England (son of Professor Robert Langton Douglas and Grace Hutchison); died on 6 Oct 2007.

    Notes:

    He was a world-famous economist. Born in Bournemouth, England, he attended Peterhouse, Cambridge in 1931 to study the classics but switched to economics. He took his bachelor of arts degree, with first class honours, in 1934. Subsequently, he spent a year at the London School of Economics (LSE), then became a lecturer in economics in Bonn, Germany in 1935, due to an interest in Ludwig Wittgenstein. He spent approximately three years in Bonn, learning the German language while researching German studies in economics.

    He had three children, one son and two daughters

    Terence married Loretta Hack on 23 Dec 1935 in Hendon Middlesex England. Loretta (daughter of Wilhelm Hack) was born in 1910; died in 1981. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

  1. 4.  Professor Robert Langton Douglas was born in 1864 in Lavenham, Suffolk, England, United Kingdom (son of Rev Robert Douglas and Annie Johnson); died in 1951 in Fiesole, Italy.

    Notes:

    The Air Marshall had a half-brother, known as Donald Hutchison in Spain or Donald Douglas in later life

    Janet Elizabeth Douglas CMG is a grand-daughter of one of the Air Marshall's brothers. She was (2016) Deputy Head of Mission in Turkey

    Elizabeth Waymire is his great granddaughter.

    (Research):The Air Marshall had two half-brothers, Donald Gabriel Hutchison, later Donald Gabriel Hutchison Douglas, a Spanish Civil War volunteer and Terence Wilmot Hutchison, a world-famous economist.
    Presumably one of his wives married a Mr Hutchison.
