Leslie and had (among others) a daughter who married Alex Lumsden of Midstrath, then John Forbes of Cults, then James Douglas of Tilliequhillie, who bore to him Arthur Douglas, father to John Douglas of Tilliequhillie (who would have been living when the manuscript was written).

  1. 8.  David Douglas was born in 1465 in Tilquhillie, Kincardineshire, Scotland (son of Sir John Douglas); died in 1526 in Tilquhillie, Kincardineshire, Scotland.

    Notes:

His parentage is challenged by some historians

David Douglass, acquired the lands of Tilwhilly in Kincardineshire through his wife, Janet Ogston, to whom he was married in 1479, and who was the second daughter and co-heiress of Ogston of Fettercairn.

He quartered in the Ogstoun's arms with that of Douglass, and took the designation of Til- whilly, as his posterity have clone ever since. The family afterwards acquired the lands and Barronnies of Strickathro, Drimmie Syde, Milnden, Nathro, Bogside, and others in the County of Forfar.

David + Janet Ogston. Janet (daughter of Thomas (of Fettercairn and Tilguhilly) Ogston and Irvine) was born in 1467 in Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Scotland; died in 1529 in Tilquhillie, Kincardineshire, Scotland. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

  2. 9.  Janet Ogston was born in 1467 in Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Scotland (daughter of Thomas (of Fettercairn and Tilguhilly) Ogston and Irvine); died in 1529 in Tilquhillie, Kincardineshire, Scotland.

    Notes:

it now appears from information communicated
by Dr. Alexander Ogston, Professor of Surgery in the University of Aberdeen, that she was the second daughter and coheiress (with a sister whose name is not known), of Thomas Ogston of Kirklands, of Fettercairn. This Thomas Ogston is believed to have been uncle to Walter Ogston of Ogston.

    Notes:

    Married:
The marriage date is probably 1479, but this throws into question their birth dates.

    Children:
    1. 4. James (2nd of Tilquhilly) Douglas was born in 1476 in Tilquhillie, Kincardineshire, Scotland; died on 23 Oct 1538 in Tilquhillie, Kincardineshire, Scotland.

  3. 10.  (Laird of Tolquhone) Forbes

    Notes:

Christian's father may not have been the Laird, but the son, or even the great grandson of the Laird of Tolquhone, who was the 1st Laird, Sir John Forbes, floruit circa 1400

    Children:
    1. 5. Christian Forbes was born in 1493 in Tilquhillie, Kincardineshire, Scotland; died in 1563 in Tilquhillie, Kincardineshire, Scotland.
