    Notes:

The Ellwood City Ledger, in its issue of Saturday 28 September 1957, carried an article about Mazie Marshall. This clipping was furnished by Janice (Mrs. Leland) Marshall:

""They are all good." This is the reply Mrs. Mazie Marshall, one of the oldest members of the Wurtemburg Methodist Church, gave when asked "Do you have any favorite Bible passages?"

"Mrs. Marshall has been a member of the Sunday School most of her 87 years. She also belongs to the Mary Pollock Bible Class of the church. In her younger years she also sang in the choir and played the organ.

"She can recall when the church was first built in 1876. Her grandfather, the late Rev. John Jacob Liebendorfer, a Lutheran minister, gave the land for the church. Mrs. Marshall remembers when services were held in various homes in the area.

"She was united in marriage with John L. Marshall in 1923 in Beaver Falls. The Rev. J. K. Pollock performed the ceremony. Her husband passed away in 1945. She is the daughter of the late Andrew and Elizabeth Liebendorfer. She also has one brother and two sisters.

"Another grandfather, the late Rev. Sam Boots, was a Methodist minister who also made caskets. Many times, she recalls, he would make a casket, take it to the home and then preach the funeral sermon."
