Deeds filed February 2nd 1854 at 12 o'clock. Stephen Riddle; Know all men by these present that I Wiley Riddle of this County of Greene and State of IN in considerations of the sum of one hundred dollars in hand paid by Stephen Riddle of the same place have bargained and sold, and do hereby grant, bargain ... , convey unto the said Stephen Riddle, his heirs and a signs forever the following premises, situated in this county of Greene, in the State of IN and bounded land described as follows, the northwest quarter of the northwest quarter of section twenty eight in
Township Seven north of range Three west, containing forty acres more of less.
To leave and to ... said premises with the appurtenances unto the said Stephen Riddle his heirs and assign forever, and the said Wiley Riddle for himself and heirs hath hereby covenant with said Stephen Riddle his heirs and a signs that he is lawfully seized of the premises above said, that the premises are free and clear from all encumbrances whatsoever and that he will forever ... and defend the same with the appurtenance unto the said Stephen Riddle his heirs and assigns against them lawfully claims of all persons whomsoever.

Bridgeton
'Uncle' Wiley Riddle, who was living with his son southeast of Bridgeton, died last Thursday and was buried at Clear Run Cemetery. He had lived to a good old age, being over 80.
NOTE: He was 78 when he died.
