13. | Juliana Catherine Spiller was born about 1841 (daughter of Col. George Spiller and Caroline Alicia Elizabeth Drummond Woodgate); died on 29 Apr 1901 in Colonial Hospital, Suva, Fiji Islands; was buried in Old Suva Cemetry, Korovou, Suva, Fiji Islands. Notes:
Juliana was one of 22 in the Spiller family and she had eleven of her own. When Walter passed away, she left England with 10 of her family, leaving Honora behind, she was the eldest and was very delicate, so to speak. Juliana was the first white woman to visit the Kimberley Diamond Mines in South Africa. She bought the Schooner "Mary Ogilvie" in Melbourne and had a Contract to deliver mail and passengers from Sydney to Norfolk Island and Lord Howe Island 4 times a year. The Schooner was bought and operated from 1879 and was wrecked 1894. After their loss, The Douglas family left Australia and bought property in Taveuni, Fiji Islands. Whilst in Australia, Juliana married Edward Harland, who had followed the family out to Australia. He was both deaf and dumb and the marriage didn't last, with Edward Harland going off to New Guinea. Juliana is buried in the Old Suva Cemetry,Korovou, Suva, Fiji Islands.
Juliana was on her way to Australia from their place, Navaca, on the Island of Taveuni, Fiji Islands. Taveuni is The Garden Island of Fiji, where the soil is very fertile. The purpose of the travel was to seek treatment for an illness in the Sydney Hospital. However, on arriving at Suva, she was admitted to the Colonial Hospital and she passed away there on the said date. The body was interred at the Korovou Cemetry, Suva, Fiji Islands. Korovou, is a Fijian name, translated, means Village new. In other words New Village. There are many Korovou places, not to get confused with the Korovou, 9 miles from Suva, Borstal Institution.
