12. | Amos Lane was born in 1804 in Vermont; died in 1851. Notes: Found in 1850 census in Chautaugua County, New York. At that time he was 46 years old and Lucy was 40 years old. They had seven children. ?The eldest, who was 19 at that time, was named Augustus Lane. This may also be what the A. Lane stood for. Also the second son, Harry Cuyler Lane, and also William Cuyler Lane. The Cuyler may be Lucy's Maiden name. The obituary story from the Oshkosh newspaper indicates they appeared in Oshkosh early in the 1850's, but there is no mention of A. Lane coming to Oshkosh. Amos + Lucy [Sanders] Lane.
