Generation: 1

  1. 1.  Daniel Case, III was born in 1771 in Newburgh, Orange Co., NY (son of Daniel Case, Jr. and Hepzibah Moore); died on 19 Mar 1809 in Minisink, Orange Co., NY.

    Notes:

Earlier records of Coe Wm. 1 Case gave date as 14 May 1781, which is believed to be the date of the birth of Daniel Case, son of Absalom, and not Daniel 3. He died on 19 Mar 1809 in Minisink, Orange Co., NY. He was buried in Pinehill Cem. Goshen, Orange Co., NY. Pinehill Cem. Goshen, NY off Rt. 84, Exit 3 Rt 17. Dolson Town Road was Residence. Daniel Case was a millwright, and has been reported to be a wealthy man. His will, on record in Goshen N.Y., names living sons and daughters. His will specifies that each son should receive 3 parts
for each 2 parts that a daughter received. One daughter, Maria, was born after his death in 1809. Land transfer document by Deborah states "Ceeder Swamp -- devised by Daniel Case the Elder to -- Daniel Case the late husband--" indicate land owned by this man were passed down from his grandfather Daniel 1. However, whether this was via Daniel 2, who inherited some of this land, or directly from Daniel 1 is not proven. Daniel 1 left land to two grandsons, one of which was named Daniel, because their father (believed to be a Samuel Case) had died prior to Daniel 1. Daniel 2 also had a son Daniel. So, we know who Daniel 3's grandfather was, but it is possible that his father was Samuel. He was married to Deborah WOOD about 1796.

Daniel married Deborah Wood about 1796. Deborah (daughter of Jonathan Wood and Mary Durland) was born on 9 Nov 1777 in New York, USA; died on 1 Oct 1856 in Dingman, Pike Co., PA. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
