and be the son of James Douglas 4th Earl Of Morton c. 1516 ? 2 June 1581,

The Earl of Morton had three daughters by his wife, Elixabeth, who, like her were declared In 1586 incapable by a "brieve of idiotry". He did have sons by other women.
