12. | Thomas Wesley Hodgins was born on 6 Aug 1866 in Biddulph, Ontario (son of "Long" John Hodgins and Isabella Sceli); died on 23 Feb 1951 in Edmonton, Alberta; was buried in Ardrossan, Alberta. Notes:
Moved from Lucan, Ontario, to Ardrossan, Alberta, in 1900.
Lived in a sod house until 1914. The frame house built to replace the sod house is still standing and is on the NE corner of the first intersection north of the N-S Ardrossan exit from the freeway leading east from Edmonton.
Bought first car, a Ford, in 1914.
Pooled resources with neighbors and bought first threshing machine in district.
Tom "lacked that stern severity that characterized many of the Hodgins of the 1800's". Had more of a sense of humor than most of his brothers and preferred wrestling with nephews to talking at family gatherings.
Thomas married Eva Hodgson on 29 Dec 1897. Eva was born in 1872 in Clandeboye, Ontario; died on 29 Jun 1928 in Ardrossan, Alberta; was buried in Ardrossan, Alberta. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
