    "Possibly grandson of William Sinclair of Dunbeath to whom Brubster,Brims, Toftkemp and Thura belonged." "If of Dunreath family, he wasprobably the son of George Sinclair of Downreay."

    also it says
    "he may have been of the family of Murkle, and if so, or he may havebeen a brother of John Sinclair, first of Assery, and a son of JamesSinclair, first of Murkle."
