    Job Johnstone was born 7 June 1793 about 3 miles below Winn's Bridge on
    Little River in Fairfield District, South Carolina. He graduated from
    South Carolina College in 1810 and read medicine with Dr. Davis of
    Columbia. He graduated at the College of Physicians and Surgeons in New
    York in 1815. Finding the practice of medicine not to his tastes, he read
    law under Mr. John Booker of York, Mr. Clark at Winnsboro, and mr. John
    Belton O'Neall at Newberry. He was admitted to the Courts of Law & Equity
    in 1818 and became a partner of Mr. O'Neall. He and Mr. O'Neall
    eventually became Chief Justice (O'Neall) and Associate Justice of the
    Supreme Court (US or SC??). Job Johnstone was a member of the
    Nullification Committee of 1832.
