  1. 1.  Thomas Wade Moore was born in 1809 in Chester County, South Carolina, USA (son of John Michael Moore and Rebecca Wade); died in 1871.

    The Chester Lantern, 17 April 1906:
    Thomas Wade Moore, one of the signers of the Ordinance of Secession, was
    born in Chester County, South Carolina in 1809, east of __(torn)__ . He
    entered the freshman class at the South Carolina College when he was
    sixteen years of age. He left college in his junior year and returned to
    his mother's home where he began reading medicine under his
    brother-in-law, Dr. John Douglass. Thomas Wade Moore graduated at the
    Charleston Medical College with distinction when he was 21 years old.
    After his graduation his mother moved to Chester, South Carolina where
    she occupied the house which stood on the Lot now occupied by Dr. G.B.
    White's residence. After two years his mother decided to return to her
    plantation in Fairfield County, S.C. and Dr. Thomas Wade Moore settled in
    the Fishing Creek neighborhood where he soon acquired a large practice
    and attained eminence in his profession. He was also a large planter. He
    devoted himself to the practice of medicine for a number of years but
    finding it too laborious, finally gave it up and devoted his time and
    energy to his farming interests.

    Thomas married Sarah Dabney Chisolm on 11 Mar 1834. Sarah was born on 28 Nov 1813 in Charleston, South Carolina; died on 25 Oct 1849 in Chester County, South Carolina, USA. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

  1. 6.  George Wade was born on 29 May 1747 in Shocco Creek, Granville County, North Carolina (son of Thomas Wade and Jane Boggan); died on 23 Oct 1823 in Columbia, South Carolina.

    Notes:

    "George Wade was one of the earliest citizens of Columbia. He had
    been born in North Carolina and had moved to Lancaster County, from which
    section he had entered the Revolution as captain of a company. In
    Columbia he became owner of many squares of land, especially in the
    southwestern section; his home is said to have been near the northwest
    corner of Main and Green Streets. He was one of the incorporators of the
    Columbia Male academy and of the Presbyterian church and in 1797 one of
    the town commissioners. His wife, Mary McDonald, died August 22, 1779. He
    married again Mrs. Martha Center, widow of Nathan Center (died in 1783),
    a sister of Col. Thomas Taylor. When he died in 1824 he was buried, it is
    said, in the Taylor graveyard; his grave is unmarked." History of
    Richland County by Edwin L. Green."

    AUTO-BIOGRAPHY OF GEORGE WADE (1747-1823

    George Wade was born in North Carolina in Granville County on Shoco
    Creek, on the 29th of May 1747. His father moved to South Carolina and
    settled on Lynches Creek in the first of the year 1754. Here he was
    raised and resided most of his life until he married the eldest daughter
    of Daniel McDonald, Mary (Polly) which was on the 18th of November 1766.
    He lived with her until the 22nd August 1779 when she departed this life.
    Then he remained single until the 28th October 1784, when he married
    Martha Center, the widow of Nathan Center. Lived with her until the 13th
    Jan. 1816, when she departed this life.
    When first married was 19 years, 5 months, 19 days old. Lived with
    first wife 12 years 3 months & 3 days, had 3 sons and 2 daughters. Was a
    widower 5 years 3 months and 7 days, and then married the 2nd wife, had

    above was taken from a manuscript written by George Wade, and copied from
    a manuscript written by Dr. Walter Wade, Jefferson County, Mississippi,
    grandson of George Wade).
    In the manuscript of Dr. Walter Wade is written: "Mr. George Wade died
    24 November 1823, aged 76 years 6 months."

    Notes:

    Colonel Thomas Wade served during the Revolutionary War as a Colonel of
    Militia in North Carolina, and as a member of the Provincial Congress of
    North Carolina in 1775.

  3. 14.  Daniel McDonald was born in 1723 in Inverness, Scotland (son of Donald McDonald and Mary ???); died in 1797 in Fredericksburg Township, South Carolina.

    Notes:

    Some historians claim the name McDaniel and McDonald were
    interchangeable. The documents relating to this Daniel McDonald indicate
    this was true. In some instances, Daniel McDonald signs legibly as
    "McDonald" and again as "McDaniel". He signed his will as "McDaniel", but
    refers in it to his eldest son as "McDonald". His will is in the
    Charleston County Will Book dated 24 September, 1777.

    "Katherine Fisher m. Thomas Steel and the Steels came to South Carolina
    about 1745. Their first neighbor was Daniel McDonald, a Scotchman, who
    had lived some fifteen or twenty years in his present home among the
    indians in entire seclusion from any of the white race. McDonald was the
    first pioneer into that district of the country. He amassed considerable
    wealth and reared a large family of sons and daughters."

    Rosa Moore McMaster joined DAR on the basis of descent from Daniel
    McDonald (DAR #202312),

    Indent No. AA 5000, issued 29 August, 1785 to Daniel McDaniel for L6:10:0
    in payment of 91 days militia duty as a private in 1781. There is no
    actual document in this file, but there is in the entry the claim of
    Daniel McDaniel sworn to on 15 July 1784 before Thomas Baker, Justice of
    the Peace. The soldier's statement is attested by Colonel H. Hunter and
    dated 21 July 1784. (S.C. Archives: Rev War Indent Records).

    Daniel McDonald died in what is now Lancaster County, South Carolina.
    Lancaster County was created in 1785, and included what is now Kershaw
    County. Frefericksburg Township, where McDonald died, was in the part of
    Lancaster County which became Kershaw County and part of Cleremont, which
    was combined with Clarendon County in 1800 to form Sumter County.

    Daniel married Rebecca Middleton in 1745 in Probably Scotland. Rebecca was born in 1724; died in 1768. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
