This information is from Sandi Hartnell, (hartnellsl@attbi.com) who says"Most of the early stuff was compiled by my grandmother's twin sister,Mina Lyon Rife. She dated the material 1956. She did a lot of research, and attributed some of the material from a 3 volumes titled "LyonMemorial". She indicated they were purchased in Boston at Goodspeed BookStore. I visited Glamis Castle about 10 years ago and have guidebooksfrom there that had family information, and I also picked up someinformation from various web cites.

11. | Isabella Ogilvy was born in 1406 (daughter of Walter (Sir) (of Carcary & Lintrathen) Ogilvy and Isobel Glen); died in 1484; was buried in Glamis. Notes:
Her other is sometimes listed as Duward. However
From Doug Hickling
"You list the mother of Isabella (or Isabel) Ogilvy, who married Patrick(1st
Baron Glamis) Lyon, as a Durward. The better evidence is that she wasIsabel
Glen, daughter of John (Sir) Glen of Inchmartin (sometimes shown as ofBalmuto)
and Margaret Erskine. Margaret Erskine was the daughter of IsabelInchmartin
and Allan (Sir) Erskine. Allan (Sir) was a younger son of William (Sir)Erskine
(of Erskine). Isabel Inchmartin was the daughter of John (Sir) Inchmartinand
Margaret Wemyss, who in turn was the daughter of David (Sir) Wemyss. SP4:16
says that "Walter (Sir) Ogilvy of Auchlevyn and Desford was the eldestson of
Walter (Sir) Ogilvy of Carcary and Lintrathen by his second wife Isobel, one of
the three daughters and heirs-portioneers of John (Sir) Glen of Balmutoby his
wife Margaret Erskine." The information on the Inchmartins comes from an
article by Bruce McAndrew, who is considered very reliable, in theperiodical
DOUBLE TRESSURE, No. 4 (1982) pp 2-10'

15. | Marjory Sutherland was born about 1436 (daughter of Alexander (of Dunbeath) Sutherland and Katherine Chalmers, daughter of Alexander (of Dunbeath) Sutherland and Marion (Or Mariotta) (De Ile) Macdonald); and died. Notes:
Doug Hickling writes:
"I found an article by Andrew B. W. MacEwen entitled "Marjory
Sutherland, Countess of Caithness and Orkney," appearing in the Spring1999
issue of THE GENEALOGIST, beginning at page 84. In very convincing style,
MacEwen goes through a considerable amount of documentary evidence toprove that Marjory Sutherland, the daughter of Alexander (of Dunbeath)Sutherland, and who married William (3rd Earl of Orkney & Caithness)Sinclair, was not the daughter of Marion or Mariota MacDonald or Ile, butrather one of many children whom Alexander had by his lifelong liaison, beginning in the early 1420s, with Catherine Chalmers. You show her asKatherine Chalmers in your gedcom. The article points out that AlexanderSutherland of Dunbeath and
Marion had only one child together, named Marion apparently after hermother.
In fact, Marion was the only legitimate child of Alexander and Marion
MacDonald (Ile). The daughter Marion married William, Thane of Cawdor."
