    Notes:

    you show that Alexander (Sir) (of that Ilk) de Abernethy, son of Hugh(Sir) (of that Ilk) de Abernethy and Mary (of Argyll) de ErgadiaMacdougal, had two daughters, namely Margaret and Maria. This is inaccord with Burke's B&P (1999) 2538 and SP 7:401-402, although bothsources call the second daughter Mary instead of Maria. These samesources say that Margaret married John Stewart, Earl of Angus and thatMary married first Andrew (Sir) de Leslie and second David (Sir) deLindsay. Burke's B&P (1999) 2538 and SP 7:402.

    'John,' md. Margaret, daur. and heiress of Sir Alexander Bonkyll of Bonkyll (sometimes spelt Bonkill and Boncle), from which he was called 'Sir John Stewart of Bonkill.'
    He was killed at the battle of Falkirk, fighting bravely for his country, July 22,1298-9. He left by Margaret his wife several sons.
