"In 1348, Elizabeth Mure, daughter of Sir Adam of Rowallan and
Janet, heiress of Polkelly, married Robert Stewart, son of WalterfitzAlan, high steward of Scotland. Robert Stewart's mother was Margery, daughter of Robert the Bruce. When Robert the Bruce's son, David, diedwithout issue, Robert Stewart became king of Scotland, as Robert II. Ishould also note that when Robert Stewart and Elizabeth Mure married thatthey had to obtain a dispensation from the Pope as "the parties were inthe fourth degree of consanguinity." I don't profess to know what thismeans as to proximity of relationship, but it would appear to have beenclose.
    > Elizabeth Mure had siblings, Adam Jr., heir of Rowallan, Andrew, andAlexander. In 1417 there is a document that gives "to a noblemanAlexander Mure" various lands, but the important part is that the subnotedescribes them as "comprehended in the barony of STRATHAVEN, LANARKSHIRE.This grant was given Alexander Mure by an Earl Douglas, husband of RobertIII's daughter, Margaret"

  2. 9.  Daughter of (of Lochow) Campbell (daughter of Colin Mor (Sir)(of Lochow) Campbell and Janet Sinclair); and died.

    Notes:

    Doug Hickling points out:
"According to several sources, Angus Og's mother was a daughter of Colin(Sir) Mor (of Lochow) Campbell. Alistair Campbell of Airds says in his AHISTORY OF CLAN CAMPBELL, VOLUME 1, at 51, that "according to atraditional history of the MacDonalds, Colin (Sir)'s daughter was marriedto Angus of the Isles and was therefore mother to Angus Og."

Ronald Williams in his 1984 book THE LORDS OF THE ISLES, at 149, saysthat "Angus Mor was married to a daughter of Colin (Sir) Cambel of Lochowby whom he had three sons: Alasdar Og, Angus Og, and John Sprangach (BoldJohn)."

So also, Nicholas MacLean-Bristol in his 1995 book WARRIORS AND PRIESTS,at 168, says that Angus Og was a "legitimate son" of the daughter ofColin (Sir) Campbell of Lochawe.

Donald J. MacDonald of Castleton, in his highly regarded 1978 book CLANDONALD, at 54, says that "Angus Mor married a daughter of Colin (Sir)Campbell, by whom he had (1) Alexander, his heir; (2) Angus Og, whosucceeded Alexander . . . etc."

Finally, THE SCOTS PEERAGE volume 5, at 34-35, identifies the wife ofAngus Mor and the mother of Angus Og as "a daughter of Colin (Sir)Campbell." The weight of authority clearly supports this addition toyour GEDCOM."

[Source: "History of the MUNROS of Fowlis...." by Alexander MacKenzie,MJI, 1898] Page 2: ..... There is , however, no doubt that Angus Og ofthe Isles, who succeeded his elder brother Alexander in 1303, marriedMargaret, daughter of Guy O'Cathan, anglicised O'Kaine, of Ulster, thetocher being, according to Hugh MacDonald the "Sleat Seannachaidh", sevenscore men out of every surname under O'Kain. Of these Irishmen, severalare said to have become the heads of clans or septs in Scotland, andamong them MacDonald specially mentions "the MUNROs, so-called becausethey came from the Innermost Roe-Water in the country of Derry, theirnames being formerly O'Millans"......'
