A Methodist minister in Albany. Deserted Mary, and left Albany in 1906 with
Annie Kindred, maid of the James houshold in Albany, she pregnant with the
first of three children, Stewart. Fled to Cabada. Subsequently bore two more,
Win, & Cyril. Win passed away weeks after being visited by Peter Hill. Other
descendants in California.

JAMES OFFICIALLY OPENED THE KALGAN RIVER HALL IN 1912. THE HALL ITSELF WAS
BUILT BY TOM DOUGLAS WHO TRAINED AS A CARPENTER WITH WILLIAM MAWSON OF ALBANY
AND WAS ASSISTED BY THE OTHER PIONEER MEN OF THE DISTRICT IN THE PERIOD PRIOR
TO 1912. THE ORIGINAL HALL DID NOT INCLUDE THE SOUTH SIDE AND WEST SIDE
EXTENSIONS WHICH WERE ADDED AT A LATER DATE.
