(Research):Description: I suggest not to use Stirnet as a source for the Balliol family or use with caution as they cite 2 sources of witch one source can no longer be found and the other source is the Lives of Baillies a source that stirnet is charging $ for that can be found for free with a google search i might ad and they say the info supports and Contradicts other sources. A Curator at Geni.com likes to use it for this Family and she has copied the same info to Wikipedia a site that should never be used for Ancestry of any kind as any one can change or edit the info It is known that the Baillies descend from this Balliol family the William de Baliol mentioned "8 LIVES OF THE BAILLIES" son of Alexander is also known as William Baillie l was born 1277 as this William had a son William Baillie the 2nd of Hoprig who married Elizabeth Wallace daughter of William Wallace People tend to get this William de Baliol/Baillie mixed up with The William de Baliol who frequently wrote his name William Balliol le Scot Just an example of why it should not be used as a only source or used with caution Stirnet source - Lives of Baillies below https://archive.org/stream/livesofbailliesd00bail/livesofbailliesd00bail_djvu.txt
