    Tobacconists business was first in Fleet Street, then in the Strand
    Owned a second shop on Victoria Parade managed by his son George. He was the first tobacconist in Torquay.
    Sang at eight in Egham choir. Won a place in St George's Chapel Choir at Windsor.
    Sang beneath Queen Victoria's window on her birthdays, and at Queen Adelaide's funeral
    Solo tenor in Holy Trinity and St Peter's in Manchester and Manchester Cathedral. Sang in Sir Charles Halle's concerts.
    Was in St Luke's choir when he went to Torquay. His four sons were also in the choir.
    After ten years transferred to Upton Church. In 1881 transferred to St John's church choir. This continued until at least 1913.
    Also sold fireworks.
