Martin Earl Trisler, infant and only child of Mr. and Mrs . Earl Trisler, was born in Leon, Iowa, December 12, 1906 a nd departed this life at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Tris ler in Garden Grove, Iowa July 20, 1908 aged 1 year, 7 mont hs and 8 days. The sickness of the little one was of shor t duration. While the parents with him were visiting in Gar den Grove he was attacked with cholera infantum. This was J uly 10th. For ten days the little one lingered. The skill o f three physicians was given, and all that loving hands cou ld do was done. The good people or [sic-should be of] Garde n Grove showed every kindness possible, but they could no t hold him back. As the dewdrop fails before the rising sun , so failed his little form. As the rosebud is plucked fo r the fairest adornment, so has this little one been gather ed for the heavenly mansions. His stay on earth was short , but in the few fleeting months he took hold of the heart s of his parents and held them captive, satisfying them wit h his love and the sweet innocency of his life and fillin g their hearts with bright anticipations for the future. An d now in his going the tender ties are not broken but rathe r strengthened as they draw the parents' heart toward the h eavenly home. Litte Martin was beautiful in life: in deat h angelic. The little form of clay will go back to the moth er dust, but the spirit has returned to God who gave it. Fo r a little time he looked upon the fair fields of earth; no w his eyes are enraptured with heavenly visions. We have lo st him for a little time, but he has gained heaven for al l eternity. His parents, with four grandparents and four gr eat grandparents and many other relatives and friends sorro w over his early departure. May their sorrow be lightened b y the presence and power of God's holy spirit richly she ab road in each heart.
Funeral services were held from the residence of Mr. and Mr s. Mart Pickering, grandparents of the little one in Leon , Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, conducted by Rev. J. L . Boyd, pastor of the M. E. Church, assisted by Rev. J J Ru ppert, of the Advent church. The floral offerings were man y and beautiful and a large number of sympathising relative s and friends were in attendance. Interment in Leon cemeter y.
