  Known as "Abe" or "Chuck", of Haslett, Michigan, he was highly involved in the community as a member of the Lion's Club, Eagles, and the Moose Lodge and as a second-generation Bath firefighter. Abe worked as a truck driver, as an owner/operator. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in his free time. He was a loyal fan of the MSU Spartans and Detroit Tigers. He loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Abe is preceded in death by his parents and siblings: L.Z., William, Larry, Virginia, Carol, and Kitsie. He is survived by his children: Sheryl, Sue (Steve) Culver, Reaves and Joe; grandchildren: Michelle (Aaron), Thomas, Tamra, Stephanie, Kevin (Beth), Tyler, William, Fiona, and Reaves; 7 great-grandchildren; sister Mary Lou Ariss; and many nieces and nephews.
