• Notes

One of the earlier settlers in Pittsdown, although others were there before him. (Research):DNA test shows that Maj Sam is descended from William Douglass (b. 1610) of New London, CT who arrived in America (MA) in 1630. Lucy Douglas (10 May 1762- 28 May 1848 in Pittstown), wife of Jonathan Brown, (20 Dec 1753-11 Jun 1836, also in Pittsdown) was the daughter of Asa Douglas, the great-grandson of William Douglas, b1610.
