  In Connection with farming, John Walling Sr., operated a grist mill in Milville, Texas, Near Henderson, Tx. His son James, and grandson Vance assisted him in the operation of the mill. for five years John enjoyed the pleassures of liffe as a poineer in texas. He met the hardships which came to him in those days with a determination becoming a man of his calibre.
