• Notes

"Poppa of Senlis This Poppa (if she existed) is often referred to as the Poppa who (in886) married Rollo 'the Ganger' who conquered Normandy. However, thedates make this impossible. The Poppa who married Rollo was a great-auntof this Poppa. Instead, noting that her father may well also have been'of Sulzbach' and that this may well have been the route whereby thecounty of Bayeux passed hands, it is thought likely that she was the sameperson as ... Poppa of Sulzbach (b c930, 'dau of Berengar of Sulzbach') &E m. Balso d'Espaine (Espagne ?), Count of Bayeux (b c930)" From http://www.stirnet.com/HTML/genie/continent/bb/brittany2.htm at Stirnet Genealogy Families Database http://www.stirnet.com/HTML/genie/genfam.htm This has a huge amount of information on hundreds (and rapidlyincreasing), mostly landed, families in 3 categories listed below. It ismore "user friendly" than most in that it shows many generations on onepage. I - Ancient & Mythical II - Continental Families - Medieval & Renaissance III - British Families - Medieval, Renaissance & Modern (Note they also say "We will soon be offering CDs of the database forsale at a modest price.")
