[niswender.ged] Located in 1860 census for, Belvidere, Monona Co., Iowa. Li ving next to his brother James, and his 16 year old wife C . A. age, 16 born in illinois. Oddly she has 25 dollars lis ted next to her name. Strange for a wife to have seperate m oney listed. is she his wife? Listed under him with last na me of Crabb. Located in 1870 census for, Belvidere, Monona Co., Iowa. Located in 1880 census for, Belvidere, Monona Co., Iowa. Li sted in his household is the following; Manitta ( wif e ) age 25 born in New Jersey. Edward S. C. This has me wondering now. If s he is listed step daughter? The older children may be fro m an earlier marriage. I will need to find them in 1870 cen sus. Yes it's confirmed. Only Lily and Charles are John an d Manitta's. the other children are from and earlier marria ge, and his wife gave the 1880 census information. John L. Crabb served in the Civil War. He served in the 39t h Infantry, Company "E" Iowa, Served in the Union Army a s a Private.
