  Entered the navy aged 12. Rear admiral 1825 Whem Lieutenant, he was involved in the action with Lord Howe in 1794 - the ship on which he held a commission, the Bellephron was particilarly cospicous in the actions. He went on the have a distinguished career in the navy. He was wounded in 1807 and received a pension.
