Research notes:

•  The Hemingford Abbots armorial closely resembles that of Bonjedward.  Dr Frederick Douglas, whose memorial window is in the church of St Margaret in Hemingford Abbots bears a different Douglas armorial.  He was a Douglas of Timpendean, a branch of the Douglases of Bonjedward.
•  In 1917, Lt. Col. Henry Mitchell Sholto Douglas, of Hemingford Abbots  took out an insurance policy. He was a great grandson of Maj Gen Sir William Douglas of Bonjedward and Timpendean.
