Primrose may have been in the Royal Wagon train, a forerunner of the army supply corps Primrose Douglas is listed in the muster books of the 1st Dragoon Guards as Corporal, commanders escort, 25th December 1815. It has been suggested that he fought at Waterloo, but at the time of the battle of Waterloo, Primrose was in England as corporal in number 12 troop at the regiments depot in Leicester He appears to have been in France in 1819, when his son, William, was born. He was a Bow Street 'horse patrol' officer in London from 1820 to 1840. (Research):He apparently had an 8 year old daughter when he remarried
