Notes |
- (Research):???Mother of Ann Proud; James Prowd; Jane Proud; Elizabeth Proud; John Proud and 3 others
Robert Proud is noted in his marriage to Cecily Morgan 10 Jul 1718 at Durham as from Yarm. Their first child Robert is the baptism and burial at Yarm in 1719 before relocating to Stanhope to have a further three children born at Mill Houses, the native home of Cecily belonging to the Stanhope Morgans of Mill Houses found in the Durham Visitation.
It seems within reason that the Elizabeth who died 1719 a widow was the mother of Robert and if there is a certain connection to Thomas as the father it stands within reason Robert is also of this family being correct age and given the few Prouds in the area. Kirkby is not far from Yarm so it is possible. Robert is noted a gentleman, but this does not seem to be noted in any of Thomas's children's baptisms.
I am at a loss as to how the researchers confirmed Elizabeth's maiden name as Dunn given they have not cited an exact date for the marriage nor can one be easily found. Is there a source that cites Elizabeth's maiden name and connection to the 1719 burial?
There is a probate document for Elizabeth under the surname "Prowd" in 1720 and do you know if the reseachers have checked that?
