- Eldest son, he was known as Jeffray.
He commanded the 5th Battalion The Cameronians and was killed in action, or died of his wounds, on 3rd July 1916.
He has a memorial in Glasgow Cathedral and in Craigton cemetery. He is listed on the Kilmun and Bellahouston Academy war memorials. His grave is in Bethune Town Cemetery, France.
