Tipton Times - 24 June 1880
Tobias has been suffering during the spring from ague (a fevermarkedly regularly recurring chills), but not to so great an extent asto interfere with the duties upon his farm. he retired the evening ofSunday, June 18th complaining of ill health. Proper attention wasshown him until he appeared to be resting quietly. In the morning hiswife, after preparing breakfast, sent her little daughter to call herpa. The little girl came back saying her pa was still and very cold.An examination revealed the fact that the unfortunate man was no more. His loss was deeply deplored by the entire community. His remainswere interred with appropriate ceremonies, Tuesday, June 15th, atMoreau Church. A fitting sermon was delivered by the pastor, the Rev.Briggs. The deceased leaves an interesting family.
