- May have been a fugitive from the '45 rebellion and had to change hisname. Consequently confusion ref use of the name of Lawrie, his wife'sname.
There is a story in the family that he or one of his predecessors (fatheror grandfather) was in Bonnie Prince Charlie's Artillery and took part inthe bombardment of Stirling castle.
