- 2nd CRUSADE:
"Baldwin's younger brother, Reginald des Marets, is also said to havegained possessions in Palestine, the fief named "Maresia" after hishome town of Marez. This Reginald des Marets married a daughter ofthe Count of Edessa. His widow, after he had died without issue,remarried with Almarick, Count of Joppe, who in 1162 became King ofJerusalem." The Will mentioned in Baldwin II notes, "mentionsReginald's sword which was given to him by his father-in-law, theCount of Edessa." Early Genealogical Records, pg. xviii, para. 3.
