Notes |
- Undoubtedly he is the Jeremiah Vail who came to North Carolina early in the 18th century, settling in Chowan Precinct. In a legal dispute with John Blount, April, 1720, he is referred to as "Jeremiah Vail, mariner.
He was repeatedly selected to serve on the Grand Jury, and for one year at least, 1727, he was a Member of the Assembly. (Family History, Lineages of Hereditary Society Members, Vol. II, p.583).
