Asbury Kenneth Ferry, 86 of Aledo died Saturday, August 27, 2005 atTrinity Medical Center, Rock Island. Funeral services will be 11 a.m.Wednesday, August 31, 2005 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd.6601-38th Ave., Moline. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. atthe funeral home. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Moline withmilitary honors conducted by American Legion Post #246, Moline.Memorials may be made to Oak Glen Home, Coal Valley or Trinity PathwayHospice. Asbury was born October 10, 1918 in Moline to William Mauriceand Blanche Edith (Griffin) Ferry. He married Mildred Louise Larson onJanuary 12, 1946 in Galesburg, IL. She preceded him in death onNovember 29, 1997. Asbury was owner of Ferry Brothers All Service GasStation. After retiring, he farmed in the Aledo area. Asbury was aWWII Army veteran. He served in the Battery B 123 Field ArtilleryBattalion in the Pacific Theatre. He was a lifetime member of the VFW.He enjoyed woodworking at his saw mill and was talented atstorytelling and working with animals. He enjoyed being around peopleespecially his friends and family.
