  From WFT Vol 21, Tree #542: He was a shipping clerk at a tannery near Wellsboro, Pa, or, perhaps a bookkeeper at Landrus(no longer exits) near Antrim, Pa. Later he lived at Elmira Heights, NY prior to moving to Belmont with his wife. Came to Belmont, NY in August 1915 to live with his son while sick with stomach cancer. He died November 18, 1915, 6 months before Ellen Sherwood was born. Before Elmira Heights, he and family lived at Landrus (does not exist in 1992), Antrim, PA and Morris, PA. He may have been a bookkeeper for a coal company at Antrim. Death Certificate indicates date of death as November 18, 1915; cause of death- Cancer of Stomach. Occupation- Shipping Clerk in tannery (perhaps near Wellsboro, PA). Born at Damascus, Pa.; Father- Wakeman Sherwood. Mother- Lucy Brown. Buried in Forest Hills Cemetery, Belmont, NY. '10 He was a log rider. He rode the logs being floated down the Delaware River. He met his wife as he stayed overnight at probably Milanville. Died of stomach cancer according to death certificate at Belmont, NY
