Notes |
- On 5 February 1808, the said Church Officer's eldest son, Duncan Sinclair, brought an action for recovery against the said Hugh's eldest lawful son, heir and executor, Captain Dugald Campbell of " Islandrec." This debt was unpaid on 19 May 1819, Captain Dugald being then still alive.
It is clear that Captain Dugald Campbell of " Islandree " must have had at least one brother ; but at 1819 I lose track of the line. Whether it has any present day representatives I do not know ; but I have been told that a Colonel Neil Campbell, of Inverleith Row, Edinburgh, who died about the beginning of 1902, claimed to belong to it, though I have failed to discover anything about him.
