Notes |
- The 16 Nov 1870 census records for Philadelphia were very poorlywritten down where the family was living at the time. There are nobirth places listed on the entire sheet of the census for any of thefamilies, including for Carl and his wife. Mary had stated in the 02Jan 1920 census in New Philadelphia, Tuscarawas County, Ohio that herparents were born in West Virginia. It would seem that on Mary'sdeath certificate the only information on her parents that Charles herson could state was Mary's father's name-Carl Marple. I'd also liketo mention that the 1870 census mentioned above is the only C. or CarlMarple that could be found in the census records on the web sitewww.Ancestry.com in the states of Pennsylvania, Virginia, or WestVirginia that had a daughter "Mary". He was listed as C.W. Marple. No other census record for the year of census 1860 nor 1880 could befound on him or on his wife C.E. Marple. 22 August 2006, SLJuhl, compiler.
