- The migration of the family is believed to be from England to NewJersey, and then after the Revolutionary War to Ohio. Their sonJonathan continued onto Indiana around 1830-1831. A year laterJonathan's son, James and wife Ann, followed to Fountain County,Indiana.
A. Source: Records of Joyce Lorraine Clore Elkins of Parke County,Indiana. Joyce was my mother, who researched the family for more than30 years, and also, I inherited her records. She spoke with manyfamily members and I do have a photo of Uncle Elijah LaBaw, the son ofBenjamin & Phoebe Crane LaBaw. Mother knew his family and children.She grew up near them.
