- Please see Benjamin F. Crane's biography notes for more details. Fromthe information in all the available resources that I've studied, thebest dates for the families migration to Indiana is between 1830 -1835. Probably, the date is closer to the year of 1830 due to theland purchases.
Also, there is a descripency as to where Jonathan Crane was born. Twosources say he was born in New Jersey (ex. 1850 census in FountainCounty, Indiana), and then in Benjamin F. Crane's Fountain County,Indiana biography it states his birth is in Warren County, Ohio.Frankly, since Jonathan and Kesiah were still living in the 1850census and gave their information to the census taker themselves, itis more likely that they were both born in New Jersey as stated, wentto Ohio with their parents, and then from there to Indiana as adultsafter Hannah's birth in 1829.
