- George Alexander Akers-Douglas gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders. He fought in the Boer War in 1900. He was Aide-de-Camp to Viceroy of India in 1904. He fought in the First World War in 1914. He gained the rank of Major and Brevet Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the Royal Fusiliers.
