Notes |
- "Robert Adams was 'one of Nature's children; frank, honest, generous,
hospitable and without an unkind thought toward anyone.' He graduated at
South Carolina College and served as a private in the War of 1812. Upon
returning home, he engaged in cotton planting on an extensive scale. He
is described as being 'a very handsome man, six feet tall and at one time
weighed two hundred and eighty-four pounds.'"
